Classical music is something, I didn't know about for first seventeen years of my life! I remember it was 1995 when I attended my first ever classical concert of my life. It was none other than shehnai maestro, Ustad Bismillah Khan and believe me I still remember the dhun of the masterpiece he played that night in Lal Quila, Delhi. After that, there was no looking back. I got the opportunity to attend the concerts of Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma (Santoor), Ustad Amjad Ali Khan (sarod), Ustad Zakir Hussain (Tabla), Ustad Sultan Khan (Saarangi), Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia (Flute), Pandit

Vishwa Mohan Bhatt (Mohan Veena), Master Shashaank (flute), Smt Sahastrabuddhe (vocal), Pandit Birju Maharaaj & Sushri Kaveri Agashe (kathak dance) and several others. Also, I was fortunate to attend the concerts of ghazal samraat Jagjit Singh twice and Hariharan. Personally, I put the concert of Jagjit Singh in Mood Indigo (youth festival of IIT Bombay) 1997 as the best concert I've ever attended.

Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma is my favorite instrumentalist. I
love the softness and sweetness of santoor. Pandit jee has revitalized santoor
to asuch an extent that it has become arguably the most popular listening
instrument for the youth of India.
Classical music is something that can never be replaced by
any other form of music. If you are not a big fan of classical music, I would
advise you t attend at least one classical concert and then you will realize
what you have missed so far in the life.
