Not an ardent listener of western music, I am mainly confined to pop music even though sometimes I do listen to rock & roll. The first time I across western music was the year 1996. Since then I have had some experience with western music that could be mainly attributed to my roommate who every now and then used to turn on his favorite songs. I love the songs that have modulation of voice and a bit of guitar heroics. My all time favorite song is sacrifice from Elton John that has an excellent lyrics as well as voice modulation. Apart from that, I am a great fan of Eagles, Michael Learns to Rock, Savage Garden, Smokie, Diana King, Enigma and Whigfield. Some of my favorite songs are:
Right here waiting: Lyrics
Unbreak my heart:

Nothing's gonna change my love for you: Lyrics
Living next door to Alice: Lyrics
Total eclipse of the heart: Lyrics
Hello: Lyrics
Radio Ga Ga:

As far as western classical is concerned, Yanni is my all time favorite. The end of August, Marching season, One man's dream, Dance with a stranger, Nightingale, Nostalgia, Enchantment, Once upon a time are some of the pieces I listen to again and again. You can listen to some of the above listed pieces by clicking here.
Recently I started listening to Kenny G and I was just overwhelmed by listening to some of his pieces especially silhouette, Don't make me wait for love, Sade and Esther. You can listen to some of these unique pieces by clicking here. If you are jaded and want some kind of relaxation, I would advise you to listen to Esther.
